My husband has been diagnosed with heart failure following his FLOT, weak outgoing heart muscle. This is now putting his surgery in jeopardy. Anyone else had experience of this? We are keen to go forward with the op but the clinicians are reluctant. Any advice please? We are being treated at Preston, Lancashire
Hi Trips and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I do hope that the surgery that you want can go ahead.
Hi Trips
I am sorry that you have not had further responses to your post, I do not have any real information to be able to offer you, but I wanted to bump up your post in the hope that someone else may now see it, who might have similar experience.
Has your Husband had any further updates from the medical team?

Hi Trips
I understand why you would want that 2nd opinion, I do hope that they are able to provide you with more information.
There is further information Here on Cancer and Heart Disease, if you haven't seen it already, but I would hope that there is some treatment which has been developed with heart concerns in mind.
Good Luck Tomorrow

Thankyou for your support Lowe.
Thankyou for the link you sent. I’ve read that with interest.
The oncologist hasn’t ruled out chemo after surgery which is encouraging and he’s already in contact with Christie at Manchester about the 2nd opinion. Feeling positive at the moment, but as we all know, what a roller coaster!!
Thanks again
That at least is some good news for you guys, which is great!
Staying positive, though hard, gives you the edge when it comes to containing the over thinking, so I hope you can keep that going.
Keep us updated, we will be thinking of you
