Hello
I have my last FLOT tomorrow, 4 in all, I have also have 2 rounds of Carbo and Etoposide. I have my CT scan on the 1st Feb as they plan is to operate so I have fingers and toes crossed they I will still be on this pathway.
The Flot has been tough as people say, the Oxy-legs were terrible!! the two week turn around has given me about 3 days of normality. I would like to thank those that offered side effect advice as it really helped me to be proactive with the Meds.
The change for me is from Oct to early December I was not able to eat food, shakes only. I am now eating normally, I have attempted spicy food, like a curry . I find I need to eat more often or I get like an empty discomfort, not sure what that's about? My sternum feels sore sometimes also? fingers crossed these are gastral related to the growth but I guess it must of shrunk as I can eat.
I am so looking forward to some weeks without Chemo but also apprehensive, it will be back to that waiting place, and this is it, which pathway? I wish I had not been told IT was high grade, this bit really sticks in my head!!
What lovely blue skies I have in the south at the moment, beautiful

Morning Vonn
I know Rock very well indeed. My Great Aunt who sadly passed away earlier this year lived in a bungalow on top of the cliff in New Polzeath which is just around the bay from Rock. It's a lovely part of the world . Recommend going on ferry to Padstow and if you fancy a bite to eat Rick Steins bistro is very accommodating and will do half portions of most of the menu.
Enjoy the break and hope Andy can get some answers soon.
I'm still waiting for my results but should get them today
Best wishes

Good morning all,
How is everyone doing? I am now in my 4th week since my last Chemo so starting to feel a lot better, still reacting PM and early nights. Pottering around more, I joined a health club at the weekend, managed two 17m lengths
just about, the jacuzzi was fab and the steam room which was lovely for lungs. I did feel quite self conscious about my body image, chicken legs, no bum. BUT I gave myself a good talking to. It felt good to take this step. Next aim is to get back walking, I was doing this Golden mile at the beach, there and back before starting the chemo again. It’s like that song, I get up again, not gonna keep me down??
Does anyone use/ know about travel insurance?
Best wishes all, virtual hug
Jennie
"I get knocked down, but I get up again, ain't never gonna keep me down".....ChumbaWumba!!
Hi Jennie,
I am nearly 3 weeks post last chemo so still feeling the effects. However I’m just back from a nearly 2 mile walk along the beach and I’m hoping to restart my wee exercise program later to start building some muscle back on my bones. I haven’t tried swimming yet as I am waiting for the sea temperature to warm up a bit. I think I would still feel a bit self conscious at a swimming pool about the big scar on my side (as well as the chicken legs and lack of bum). I’ve actually just arranged travel insurance for my wife and myself as we have a couple of trips coming up. I took out an annual policy which included worldwide cover plus cruise cover (both of which push the price up) as we have a big 31 night cruise from Chile in February. Obviously I was the third factor that pushed the price up. I got quotes from 2 companies for around the £1000 mark but went with AllClear Insurance. The other company was InsureWith. Both were recommended by contributors on the travel insurance thread on the Macmillan website. Expensive I know but my wife and I have decided that it’s just a cost we are going to have to factor into our travel plans in the future and we are not going to let it stop us from going on holiday. Going somewhere nice? CB
Hi Jennie
That is great you managed some swimming. I know what you mean about the chicken legs and no bum syndrome. I'm not going out on the road yet I'm going to cycle indoors on my spinning bike till the muscles return!
B12 injection tomorrow so hopefully that will give me a boost.
We just have to keep going don't we
Best wishes
Dean
Hi CB
Good to hear you are walking that far, must be so nice to walk along the beach. That cruise next year sounds wonderful and we don't get much choice on the holiday insurance if we want to do things like that.
I have decided my goal is to be ok for going to the Tour de France next year and travel and follow it the whole 3 weeks, maybe even cycle some of it as well.
Like I said to Jennie we must all just keep going and never give up. Do all the things we want to do while we can
B12 injection tomorrow so hoping that will give me a boost
Stay well my friend
Best wishes

Hi Bob
Absolutely right my friend. This cancer has knocked me down so many times but I keep fighting and getting back up again.
I appreciate life so much more now and I'm going to make the most of every bit of time I have left however long that will be
Best wishes
Dean
Dya know what Dean the one and only "good" thing about cancer is how it stops everyone in their tracks. Stops them worrying about the trivial things in life that we thought were important. It makes us realise how precious every moment is, how fragile our lives are. It truly makes us more humble, appreciative and forgiving. I was diagnosed on the 22nd of March, the same day as Katherine, Princess of Wales. If I can tell you that I'm a staunch Republican (still am) and my old self probably wouldn't have cared too much. But in that moment I saw a scared and vulnerable human being, just like me, and I had a feeling of total empathy. My cancer had woken me up to the realisation that life isn't black and white.
So what I'm trying to say is that in it's own way cancer makes us better people. It is the greatest leveller, striking at rich and poor without discrimination and it brings us closer to those we love and cherish.

Hello CB
If I went in the sea it would be in a wet suit, in UK waters anyway. Yes I was pretty self conscious at the pool but just thought, nope, do it Jennie. I do have a swim suit though so only 3 scares can be seen and the one on my neck.
We are having a family holiday, Florida in May, probably a couple break somewhere, Croatia is somewhere we have both wanted to go. Where are you sailing round for a month, world tour? Very nice. Thanks for the insurance info, I will take a look.
Well done on your 2 mile walks.
Take care Jennie
