Hello
I have my last FLOT tomorrow, 4 in all, I have also have 2 rounds of Carbo and Etoposide. I have my CT scan on the 1st Feb as they plan is to operate so I have fingers and toes crossed they I will still be on this pathway.
The Flot has been tough as people say, the Oxy-legs were terrible!! the two week turn around has given me about 3 days of normality. I would like to thank those that offered side effect advice as it really helped me to be proactive with the Meds.
The change for me is from Oct to early December I was not able to eat food, shakes only. I am now eating normally, I have attempted spicy food, like a curry . I find I need to eat more often or I get like an empty discomfort, not sure what that's about? My sternum feels sore sometimes also? fingers crossed these are gastral related to the growth but I guess it must of shrunk as I can eat.
I am so looking forward to some weeks without Chemo but also apprehensive, it will be back to that waiting place, and this is it, which pathway? I wish I had not been told IT was high grade, this bit really sticks in my head!!
What lovely blue skies I have in the south at the moment, beautiful
Hi Jennie
It was nice to hear from you this morning I bet it’s nice to be feeling well enough to be spring cleaning allbite it being August. But I’m sure with everything that we’ve been through I’ll let you off.
It was such a shock to read about Dean and it’s now putting everything into a whole new perspective about this horrible disease. I’m not on the sarong trial that Dean was on about so I think I have to wait 6 months until I get my next scan unless anything changes
I’m currently sitting in the Chemotherapy unit having my 3rd cycle so going on the past performance I’ll be feeling crap from tomorrow for the next week(deep joy)
I hope your still feeling ok and best wishes
ALASDAIR
Hi Dean
I’m so glad you’re being upbeat about your current situation it must have been awful for you to receive that news after everything you’ve been through. Have you arranged to get a second opinion or is that a no go?
I’m currently on my 3rd cycle of FLOT chemotherapy so I know from tomorrow I’ll be feeling crap for the next week so I’m trying to get my messages done beforehand.
I hope your coping ok and please let me know when you receive hopefully better news
Thinking and praying for you my good friend
Best wishes
Alasdair
Hello Alasdair
Well done, 3rd round, 1 more to go.
I am the sarong trial, have asked your team about it, maybe they haven’t put your forward if your GI team do scans as a matter of routine? Mine do not, we only get a scan if new symptoms develop which is tough because the body does have some as it mends

HAha, thanks for letting me off with the spring cleaning! Part of it is just having some control back and all those feelings that go with watching your loved ones do it all!
Yes Deans news is crap for him and what we all dread, it is great that he will get treatment that controls the cancer.
Home any side effects stay mild for you.
Take care
Jennie
Hope tomorrow’s appointment goes well and gives you some positive encouragement for the plan ahead. Will be thinking about you. Good luck. Julie
Hello CB
Glad that the dog wounds are healing, crumbs that’s awful, was the dog put to sleep?
Hopefully it’s scare tissue healing to tightly that is causing the lump feeling, is it when you eat? I still gets some aches around my R rib area, I have spoke to the team and I am advised this is the nerves knitting back together! It’s really tough, being positive and all that malarkey.
I was given my histology verbally I then found the letter to my GP on the NHS App. A month later I received a copy, it’s good to have to refer back to on those down days, grounds me.
I am doing ok, some good walks, little bit of swimming but also rest days, sometimes I push to much but overall I feel I am doing well, eating good, not to much or to quick and low carb, low sugar or I get D.syndrome or Hypo. These are a lot less.
Great news that you have put some weight on, your certainty doing something right.
Take care
Jennie
Hello Julieanne
So glad you’re feeling well and normal after your treatment, what is your operation date. I agree, it is life changing and very humbling to say the least, it feels sad too that I have had to have this happen to me to get this place! It is what it is though, I am not likely the first or last to feel this way.
That sounds really hard to look after you and your parents but good that you can share with your brother.
Take care
Jennie
Hi Alasdair
Yes it was a major setback but I see my original oncologist tomorrow morning as he knows my history better and also my surgeon gave me a bit of hope in that if this next treatment works well and it doesn't spread then some options may be available
I'm staying positive and I'm going to fight this every step of the way.
No idea how this immunotherapy/ chemo is going to affect me but hopefully will be a bit kinder than the Flot system.
Hope your next round goes ok, always here for you too my friend for as long as I can be
Best wishes
Dean
Hi Julie thank you so much that means a lot to me. If I can get some hope to cling to tomorrow that's all I want.
Whatever they say I'm going to keep on fighting and stay positive to be here as long as possible.
Life is so cruel as sometimes but hey it is what it is just have to get on with it. Will let you know how it goes x
Hi Jennie
Side effects started even earlier this time. I finished my chemotherapy session at 3 o clock this afternoon I was suffering from nausea by half 5 and the diarrhoea started and hour later and still suffering with it now 5 hours later. Hopefully I m empty now do maybe get some sleep
Have you been cleaning again today or have you got another more enjoyable pastime.
I hope you’re keeping well and enjoying this lovely weather we’re having. Best wishes.
Alasdair
