Hi all,
my husband has been told as the margins weren’t clear after surgery that even though he has finished the FLOT surgery sandwich that we are now looking at 5 weeks of 5 days a week radiation with tablet chemo. I suppose I am really asking if anyone else has gone through this extra treatment and what the side effects were. It will be going on over Christmas and new year and we’ve been told it will get increasingly hard to eat and drink, it just throws the festive season into doubt.
Thanks
Stephanie
Hi Stephanie sorry to hear all that treatment didn't go too well. I'm waiting for my op after 4 rounds of chemo but haven't had radiotherapy yet. A friend of mine has though and it's similar side effects to chemo although they don't seem to last as long.
Hope it all goes ok though and you can have as best a Christmas as possible
Best wishes
Dean
Hi Stephanie
I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to the radiation treatment, so I want to bump your post up again, hopefully one of the other members may be able to give you some more guidance.
If not, maybe your husband could call the Macmillan helpline who may be able to offer some further advice.
Best of Luck
