Hi All
what type of pre op chemo did everyone have? Been offered Flot
Hello Benjamin - I have just noticed you post has gone unanswered, I am sorry about this - I can't answer it myself as I am from the Prostate Cancer forum. But by me responding it will "bump" the post back to the top and someone with the knowledge to answer it may well read it.
Another idea may be to join and post it on the Chemotherapy forum where someone may have an answer. To do this click on the link I have provided and when the page opens click "join" at the bottom of the page on the black banner. You can then either copy and paste or repost your question.
I hope this helps.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello. I've just noticed your post, and yes I had FLOT chemo. I've just finished my first 4 rounds, and having my op on 13 October, possibly with more FLOT chemo afterwards (yet to be decided). What in particular would you like to know? It's a very tough regime, but a very effective one. I went from not being able to eat solid food to being able to eat totally normally after round 2. Wishing you luck for your coming treatment.
Hi Benjamin46781,
I was diagnosed with stage 3 (initially diagnosed with stage 4, but that's another story) adenocarcinoma oesophageal cancer over 5 years ago. FLOT is the chemotherapy offered to patients on the curative pathway for this type of cancer. It replaced ECX chemotherapy in 2017 due to higher survival rates, and I am one of the statistics of this. For me FLOT was brutal, and more painful than my surgery, but it saved my life.
Thank you for commenting this. My dad, 55, just finished his 4th and final round of chemo in hope to prepare for the surgery. Currently waiting for the scans and it has left me in such an insane state of worry. This has been so comforting to read as he was given the same plan as this. Wishing you all the very very best xx
