Hi everyone
My husband has a stent fitted last week and started chemo on Thursday. The acid reflux is particularly vile for him in the morning. He takes the usual tablets, raised sleeping position etc has anyone got any tips on what you found good to ease your symptoms, trial and tested etc. He is now quite weak due to him being dehydrated last week and kept in hospital.
thank you for your time reading this and best wishes to you all

Hi I do sympathise as I have acid reflux which was worse when on chemo.
I am sure your husband is on the normal gaviscon etc. as well as the tablets. I found when I had an episode I sometimes used 3-4 of the gaviscon to sooth my throat and then, when I could I would eat, things like yogurt, carrots, cheese biscuits, milky bar buttons for example. It’s worth looking online for ideas of foods that can help and pick what he likes to keep handy.
I have found now I am 3 months post chemo that it has settled down a lot and only happens occasionally.
I wish you both all the best.
HI
My partner would have used Gaviscon advanced along with rennies and the lemeprozole. Unfortunately its hard to deal with as the throat burns so much. after these he would have sucked on lemon hard boiled sweets to get some taste back and that seemed to help a we bit.
