Time spent on pre op

I think that there is a lot of variation between hospitals. I saw my consultant for the first time on a Friday lunchtime, was sent straight afterwards for all the preop assessments and they took several hours. I had to see several different people and sometimes it was the waiting around as I went from dept to dept. My surgery was on the Monday morning. I would think for peace of mind arrange a sitter for your dog as its one less thing to be worrying about. I was lucky to have family next door who were able to look after my pets at short notice.

Thank you for your swift reply. Yes think I will do that, no doubt my husband will be on edge that day and as you say, one less thing to worry about. 

I found that I could not relax unless I knew my pets were sorted. They are part of the family.

i agree with Jane2511 best to get one.  Mine was several hours as I saw a few different people in the team, we had to travel to London on the train so it took all day in the end.  

I hope all goes well and your husband is soon recovering.
