Specialist nurse for support
Hi there Jasmin.
So sorry to read your story. I know that doesn't help but it helps me putting pen to paper and letting things out. Knowing that others are out there going through similar stuff and I won't get stupid answers etc.
Is there no chance of a kidney transplant for you? I apologise if this is a stupid comment, but I know nothing of CKD.
I have Oesophageal cancer by the way. Early days for me. Just had staging laparoscopy yesterday but results sound good. They didn't find anything else so should be good for chemo soon.
I take it you have OC too, hence the need for chemo?
Take the best care possible if yourself. Try to build up your strength, going for walks etc. I have told all my friends and family now and I have found their kind words very supportive and helpful.
Keep posting on here. Let it all out, it really helps. If you have any pressing concerns ask your medical team but the thing I've found useful is asking others how long between chemo and op, etc. What symptoms they get from chemo and all that fill in sort of stuff. You have to bear in mind that each journey, while similar, is totally individual. What affects one person may not be the same in another.
Good luck going forward. If you click on my profile picture and read my profile I've been using it like a diary of events which is very useful to do.
All the best Geo.
Hi Jasmin and sorry you find your self here, I take it you have Oesophageal cancer? I’m on the stomach cancer site (along with 3 other sites) it’s my husband who has stomach cancer, he had his stomach out last Jan, what I really wanted to say is he didn’t have chemo as the surgeon at Notts hospital said they found over 75s don’t cope so well with it, also while at the hospital we met a man with Oesophagus cancer ( over 75) he also didn’t have chemo, he had the op and is doing well. So don’t give up hope, it’s a bit scary but just try and stay positive. Good luck to you xx
