At the beginning of March was told the worse news anyone can received. I have Signet ring caner on the Junction of the stomach just waiting for more test to see if we can have the operation . The worse thing is seeing the pain in my wife face and nothing i can do . We are in the waiting game now and i have never been so scared

  • Hi Nicnac, hope all goes well with the tests and that there are results full off hope. It is the worse news and the affect on our families can be the worst pain off all. I was diagnosed last July and after chemo and operation I am back to an almost normal life. I was terrified when it all began but there can be hope at the end off the tunnel and i wish you well, Kind Regards, Bill

  • Thank you bill for your kind words , and hope your full recovery soon . God Bless Bill

  • My mum was diagnosed in Feb and is awaiting to start chemo radiotherapy with the view to have surgery after so this is really encouraging to hear.

  • Hi Nicnac

As Bill was saying this is a tough journey for us and our families.  None of us want to be on this journey. I was diagnosed in August last year. I've completed 4 rounds of FLOT, surgery in January and I'm on my second cycle of post operative FLOT. Things were starting to feel more normal just before I started chemo again.  The waiting for the staging and treatment and the uncertainty is horrible. I'm sure it will more manageable once you have a plan. The surgery is a major operation but they have you walking from the next day. It's a strange one for me as it's a major operation but your mobile much quicker than you expect. I attended at prehab programme at the Royal Surrey Hospital where the physios help you to get fitter at your own pace in preparation for the surgery.  I found the exercise and the support it offered very useful.

    Sending positive vibes.

  • Hi Nicnac, that is promising. Great news it has not spread and not in nodes. That is the best news under the circumstances. Keep going, you can do this, Bill
