Hi
I am in my second round of chemo and for some reason it seems to have made the acid reflux at night a lot worse. I am sleeping almost upright and taking Omeprazole twice a day and Gaviscon when going to bed.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I else I can do or take? Hopefully it will settle down when the chemo ends as I was coping quite well.
Thanks
Hi JacPop, I have been on Zoton lansoprazole tablets for 2 years and just take one in the morning, they tried one other but it was like sucking cardboard, they are reluctant to prescribe these as they are more expensive but worth a try, as mentioned though best speak with tour Oncologist or GP.
I do top up with Gaviscon double action if I have anything in the night, you may also find sleeping more upright helps
Hope it improves
Tony

Hi
Thank you I did speak to my GP yesterday and asked if there was anything else I could try but he didn’t offer these tablets. I will speak to the oncology team next week see if they can help, it’s just hard when you are so tired and then up half the night with acid.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
