Hi. My husband has oesophageal cancer and has made an informed decision not to have the operation. He has just finished a course of chemo radiation bur information on what happens next seems to be in short supply. He has been told that he will receive a phone call in 6 weeks and then a scan in a further 6 weeks but that is all. Does this sound normal and does anyone know what might happen after that?
Hi, I don’t know anything about radiation as my husband didn’t have any but 6 weeks sounds like a long time to wait. Does there need to be time for the area treated to settle down? I would get in touch with the specialist nurses to ask questions, you need to have an idea of why there’s a wait and they should be able to reassure you.
Sorry I can’t be of more help x
