i have my last of 6 treatments nov 3rd,  spoke to consultant today about going forward

had one pet scan showing no spread of my small cell cancer , from the 1cm that they found in my Oesophagus with no spread , it shows clear all over with some thickening in same place of my first scan. so

they are planning another pet scan in a month and endoscope nov 14th,,so they can determine next way forward   they said might have radiotherapy

now the question, i want to have a holiday  from 28th dec to 20 jan , i am thinking by time i get results and the next plan, i would not lose much time from treatment

or am i just being hopeful and should do the therapy if needed

not an easy one to reply to  ,  but anything would be helpful,  like how long after chemo  did people start radiotherapy ,  or other treatments,  as i am a bit vague on the way forward

  • Hi Pipado, welcome to the site, I had both together so the timing is a bit vague to me, if the chemo hasn't cleared then obviously RT is the next course of action, I had 35 RT's and 7 chemo and have been clear since March

As for holidays, which is more important and the RT Team fitting you in ? however you may feel you need the break to let yourself recover and prepare for the RT as that will take it out of you, it becomes a bit gruelling !

Is the holiday abroad, if so I would check the Insurance Costs ouch they hurt more than the treatments

Hope it helps a bit but I’m sure others may come along that have experienced the treatment
