Hi

After a few days doing quite well after having srent fitted G is back in hospital being treated for aspiration pneumonia. Apparently the tumour has overgrown the stent and blocked it. He is on a feeding tube now and being treated with antibiotics. They are talking about repositioning the stent but will the same thing happen again? So many questions and not many answers  Not sure how much more either of us can take. Feel a bit desperate at the moment don't really know where we are on this journey anyone else been in this position?

  • My hubby and I are only just beginning this journey Sue but I just wanted to reach out and virtually hold your hand. I am trembling with the awfulness of all this and can only imagine how you are feeling right now. Sending love and strength. Lisa

  • Hi Lisa

Thank you for your reply. So sorry to hear you are starting this journey too. It is fear of the unknown I think that is the worst thing and not wanting to see someone you have loved for almost all of your life suffer. This has taken my husband so quickly. At the beginning of February he was fit and still working full time. I waiver between wanting a swift and comfortable conclusion for him and then feel guilty for that as he is still here and there is still hope. My love and best wishes to both of you.

  • Talk to the doctors. One or two things you say sound just a little odd, and might be clarified by them. In any event they are far nearer to knowing the answers than anyone here can be. It is a very individual course of events. Even if someone here had followed a similar path there is nothing to say the paths would not diverge.

It does sound traumatic and uncomfortable for both of you. Please accept the best wishes sent your way from all here.
