Hi

Just wondering if anyone can share any advice or experience they have with obtaining travel insurance for someone with a Glioblastoma stage 4?

Any providers you found particularly helpful? Am assuming it will be expensive.

 Thanks for any help

  • Hello

I am Brian one of the Community Champions here on the online Community. I hope you don't mind me replying as I have just noticed your post.

On the Community we do have a group for travel Insurance and here's the link you need

Travel insurance forum for cancer patients

You will be able to look around there and once you have joined make your own post.

I have prostate cancer and my wife has issues (Medical ones) and we have an annual worldwide travel policy. Rather than complete the online forms (they all use the same algorithms) we tend to telephone the various companies and then we know they have our specific diagnosis and treatment. We have also had some very good quotes using a comparison site called Albert and Eddie.

I hope the above helps and you enjoy a holiday. Sunglasses.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi Brian

Thank you for your reply and sharing your experience. Will check out that forum.

    Thanks

  • Hi Finn

we used AllClear Travel Insurance | Medical Travel Insurance Specialist to get cover for G when he went skiing and also when he went to Paris for a week. It wasn't cheap but worked out about £300 for the week (2022 prices)

When I called to arrange it for him the firm were very helpful but did ask some very direct questions so be prepared for that it you give them a call.

Where are you thinking of travelling to?

    love n hugs

  • Hi Wee me

    Thanks for sending that over.

No definite travel plans at the moment, just trying to get prepared for when the opportunity arises.

     Thanks

  • We used "Insure and Go" for a trip to germany in April and for a trip to brittany in june. Ten days in April was £800, eight days in june was £2,000.

    Some companies declined to quote.

If asked, I would guess that the cost of insurance is related to the length of time from the initial diagnosis
