Non enhancing MRI

Has anyone have any experience of their GBM  not enhancing when having an MRI? 

It is well known that the enhancement of tumour tissue confirms malignancy but my loved ones has never enhanced, is slow growing now stable after radiotherapy only and the  last MRI residual tumour again did NOT enhance. Weird. 

Any thoughts on this ?

    Enhancement means that the tumor takes up the chemical Gadolinium which shows up on the MRI. I've read that 1/3rd of GBM's will not show enhancement and likewise a portion of low grade cancers will show enhancement. I don't think doctors will consider enhancement alone in grading a tumor but rather will take the change in enhancement to calculate if treatment is working or not.
