Anyone else had really bad back pain? Im on w&w but right groin nodes enlarged/painful. Now right buttock going down leg is so painful. Doc says a sciatic nerve flare up but im concerned it may be enlarged nodes pressing on nerves? I cant get any relief after taking pain killers....its agony even laid down!!
Good Morning Rosie,
In answer to your question yes, I was having extreme pain in my back and also in my groin. I’m on active monitoring so no treatment. My oncologist ordered an MRI which proved my pain was unrelated to my lymphoma (degenerative disc and a Labral tear in my cartilage ). Always better to get it checked out. At least I’m not worried and can deal with the pain.
Good luck with your treatment and I hope you find some relief from your pain .

Hi Rosie30 …… when on Active Monitoring (Watch and Wait) other healthy issues are inevitably going to come along….. over my first 14 years basically on Active Monitoring (different types of Low-Grade NHLs) I had various health problems diagnosed with some developing significant pain… the main one was Thoratic & Lumber Spondylosis - Spinal Osteoarthritis.
I was also diagnosed with Pleural Thickening and Pleural Plaque (Right Lung) - Asbestosis.
But once my main mass started to grow in my neck it trapped…. actually encompassed nerves and muscles and the pain from this was off the scale.
Edit:
The pain did continue throughout my main chemo and for a period after as this was down to the enclosed muscle and nerves stretching in their new freedom ((hugs))
Thanks for your reply Sarah. I do have osteoarthritis in my back/hip, knees and ankles so maybe its that but the pain seemed more intense than usual. I have enlarged retroperitineum nodes so at back of my abdomen and just wondered if it was them pressing on my nerves? I have a CT scan this evening so maybe it will shed some light on it.
Hi thanks for your reply. Ive just done a reply to Sarah (Sasbambam) explaining why i was concerned....retroperitineum nodes etc. Will see what shows on my CT scan..if anything. Thanks again.
