Hi...I have folicular lymphoma...I'm at the point that I am waiting to find out if the treatment I had has worked or I have to go back for more..
I know that the cancer could come back somewhere else in the future which is why I am thinking about elective surgery for a misectomy. My family has been affected by cancer which included breast cancer and I don't want the rest of my family to suffer again seeing me going through something like this...
Any advice would be cool..
Hi again TKjedi, I can’t give you any advise as I have no experience in this or know anyone who has went down this road. Let’s see if anyone has any experience.
You could put your thoughts to our cancer nurse team as in our Ask an Expert section but do allow a few working days for a reply.
I can't imagine a doctor would do a mastectomy without good reason. My follicular lymphoma started in the skin, then went to the lungs and then the latest recurrence was in lymph nodes around the abdomen so I can understand your fears. Speak to your doctor.
Hi Londoner12
Thanks for the advice...I just find it a bit scary that this cancer is unpredictable and wanted to be ready to do whatever is needed to keep this at bay.
Many thanks
