Well I knew it would happen eventually.
My mother in law tested positive on Monday my son on Tuesday, my wife on Thursday and me today.
Just spoke to my boss who said company policy is that if you are well enough to work YOU SHOULD WORK!
He said it might be different for me though.
Anyway I can self cert for a week.
Sorry to hear that Covid has caught up with you Doh. I do hope that you find the symptoms very mild like I did - honestly I have had worse colds.
The general advise is now “try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days”…… the important word is try and employers are taking the view that if you are not showing signs and no temperature then you are fit to work.
You may want to consider contacting 119 and discuss the antivirals if you are experiencing more challenging side effects but contact needs to be made within the first few days post positive test.
I had a conference call with my consultant and an Infectious Diseases Consultant and we agreed that I did not need the meds.
Wishing you a smooth recovery path.
Well I got another email about an antiviral trial and I got an NHS text that says stay at home..
I am not eligible for the trial because my GP is not signed up for it.
Also got an email saying if I am not contacted in the next 24 hours .
I should contact my GP who does not work weekends because nobody gets ill at the weekend.
Or ring 111
Yes there is no joined up planning at the moment
Contact your hospital team. They can refer you to the CMDU who will then contact you about treatment.
Did you try 119?
I rang 111 and after a lot of pointless questions they got an out of hours doctor to ring me from the local hospital.
They are prescribing Paxlovid which is their first line treatment.
She said they were reluctant to use them at the start of the year till they had been proven safe.
It will be delivered this afternoon or tomorrow morning.
