I just had a fourth covid jab. I am mid treatment cycle with rituximab and bendamustine so asked at the hospital if I should have it and was advised to go ahead. Slightly concerned now that I've read all the information on the vaccine (Moderna this time around), as one of the side effects is enlargement of lymph nodes..... should I be worried? Bit late now, but any thoughts appreciated as I'm supposed to have another one in 28 days.

  • Hi , you did the correct thing and asked your team. On my 22 years I always stuck to the simple principles that the experts know better.

Take a breath and don’t stress this…… if you do stress this you may actually make yourself ill - vicious circle

Yeah I thought that, but still good to have it confirmed by you. I didn't realise they were giving me Moderna until I got there, I've had all of them now! No ill effects from the other jabs but they were all before treatment started. Moderna comes with all sorts of warnings of side effects but I am an eternal optimist and won't be looking for them.... that way madness lies..... thanks

  • Still trying to navigate getting my 4th Fingers crossed

My age (71) probably puts me in the vulnerable bracket!

  • Yes that is most likely correct. I know I am getting the 4th and I am 14 weeks post my 3rd but my GP has not be authorised to do them yes and there is no local walk in centre.

I am ‘only’ 66 Joy and six years out from my second Stem Cell Transplant but I am still classed as CEV so in the at risk group.

I am lucky, we have a huge and easily accessible walk in hub in Taunton which is just a bus ride away.  Good luck with your 4th.

  • I had some jabs while on R-Benda and the last one while on ritux. Came to no harm but didn't mount a response to the vaccinations either. Ritux does that so be extra careful around covid.
