Hello
I'm a newbie to this group.
I'm feeling very over whelmed with the process of waiting to confirm my cancer diagnosis in my left eye. Is there anyone here who can talk me gently through the procedures.
Been called back urgently on Tuesday after test. I've fought brest cancer now this...
Thank you so much for taking time to read this and hopefully giving me some light in this dark tunnel.
Healing to you all
Hi Fightingfit50
Bless you- it can indeed feel very overwhelming to be going through a diagnosis and to be wondering about what may happen next.
Please give the Support Line a call and talk things through with one of the nurses. They are lovely on there and will understand how you are feeling. They are there till 8pm tonight and then again at 8am tomorrow.

My heart going out to you and wanted to post some encouragement your way, as it’s 11 years since I was diagnosed with eye cancer, a small ocular melanoma in my left eye.
I was diagnosed at St Paul’s Ocular Clinic at the Royal Hospital Liverpool by Professor Heimann in November 2013.
I was treated soon after diagnosis to Proton Beam Radiotherapy at Clatterbridge.
Despite all my fears and dread, the treatment was successful - whilst the staff were wonderfully supportive.
Since I have continued with annual surveillance at Liverpool and also a 12 monthly liver ultra sound.
It must be a huge shock to have another cancer diagnosis, … and I partly understand how overwhelmed you must be right now.
But trusting you are able to access the right support as you begin to process your recent diagnosis.
Ive been a member of an Ocular Melanoma Support Group at OcuMel Uk for a few years now. Their support has been life changing and I have learnt so much about this rare disease along the way.
The group has helped me interact with others who are on a similar journey, together we become a force for good for one another.️
Hold on to the good that’s still in place, you have already overcome so much,… but in this instance a day at a time will certainly help you stay present and that will give you strength.
Well done for reaching out!
Shall be thinking of you as you step into the next stage of your treatment.
Sending love and prayers, xxx️

Can I first sympathise with your situation having recently been diagnosed myself. I offer a virtual hug (albeit a bit forward).
As you have yet to be diagnosed formally, it is really difficult to say too much about what treatment you will be offered/follow. What I can say is that on the basis of the interaction I have had with specialists thus far at Moorfield's and Clatterbridge, they are attentive and caring. You should be in good hands.
I have posted a couple of items with similar "Treatment Step 1" headings which maybe informative/helpful depending on your treatment. I'm not a professional medic/author so they may make for a "dry read". These are based on preps/progress towards a Proton Beam treatment, one of the two radiotherapy options that were put to me, coming up in November.
Other treatment options may be proposed in your case so do try and make use of the specialists with as many questions as you can. If it is an option for you, perhaps take a companion along to ask the questions you may have planned in advance. A 2nd set of ears in these appointments can be highly useful as you come to terms with any information you are given.
I really hope matters work out as easy as possible for you, and albeit this is rare, you are most definitely not alone.

Samuel,
What a beautiful message ️
This has given me some peace at this moment, I'm scared of everything to do with this.
I will look into the surport group you have mentioned.
May you continue on a healthy path of life & thank you so much x
Firstly thank you so much for your message
Where would I find your info/ post about treatment 1??
This isn't a journey I was expecting, but to be able to talk on here has given me hope.
I hope your path to better health continues
Thank you x
If you go up a level to the Eye Cancer Forum, there is a "Diagnosis and Treatment" header. You should find them in that folder.
I have tried linking the folder in this response.
Hopefully that will be a little quicker.

We encourage one another which has the potential to make a huge difference in someone’s life.
I hope you will soon connect with OcuMel UK, a friendly supportive group, they are all super troopers a group of people that I hold very dear to my heart.
May all go well for you on your cancer journey as you recover and heal. ️
How are things for you.
I am waiting to be seen by Moorfields. I have fluid now. Local hospital thinks it's coming from my eye freckle which is further raised.
Hi
I’m happy to assist you although I’m not sure what you are asking. Please feel free to ask me any questions. FYI I was diagnosed with ocular melanoma 2.5 years ago and treated with brachytherapy in Liverpool.
best wishes
paul
