Small bowel cancer recurrence

I have just found out that my cancer is back. I had my jejunal adenocarcinoma removed in 2015 with follow up chemotherapy. It showed up as a slight change in my routine follow up CT scan. PET scan showed tumours in my abdomen and lungs. I have no symptoms so it is hard to believe. I'm awaiting my oncology appointment. Has anyone had a similar experience?

Very sorry to hear that your cancer is back. Very horrible disease. I was diagnosed stage 4 jejunal adenocarcinoma in March 18. No symptoms before. Had 12 cycles of chemo and jejunium resection. Was in remission for 2 months. Recurrence on the liver. Back to chemo at the moment.

  • Started chemo last week. Folfiri this time (FOLFOX last time). Very fatigued this time compared to last. It took me a while to get my head around being Stage 4. Tumours so small I had no symptoms. It was difficult to decide to start chemo which would make me ill!

I was lucky to have 3 years clear when you only had 2 months. How are things?

Hi, I was stable with that tumor on my liver for the last 7 months but now things got worst. Plenty of new tumours on the small bowel, liver and peritoneum. Started the same chemo as you folfiri. How you feel on that new stuff? How you manage side effect if you have any? Take care.
