Looking to compare recovery journeys from stem cell transplant. I’m currently 5 months out from autologous transplant and finding recovery is not at all linear. Mental health is one issue and some side effects are another thing entirely.
Hi again Matthi A D at 5 months out from Auto SCT your new immune system is still a baby so stuff will happen.
I had 2 Allo (donor) SCTs the first in June 2014 that failed by Dec 2014 so I went back in Oct 2015 for a second Allo SCT…..8 years on I am doing great but the recover post my second Allo SCT took about 2 years….. you can see my story in this (LINK).
You may find the following thread in our dedicated Stem Cell Transplant helpful Life after a SCT - A Survivor's Guide where we have tried to collect or post treatment experiences.
Happy to chat more.
I’ve recently been having intense night sweats… these are very bad for relapse anxiety.
I had no night sweats over all my first 16 years then 6 months after my second Allo SCT I had bad night sweats for a few weeks…… no relapse - all put down to my immune system still sorting itself out.
