Hi Everyone,
I was diagnosed Feb 2016 with CLL and put onto watch and wait. generally the bloods have gone well apart from a couple of spikes. Im now being tested annually.
One thing that I keep forgetting to find out though is there any specific things to look out for, warning signs as it were..
I'm suffering with other things like insomnia and depression and the wonderful year that 2020 had been hasn't helped either, getting to see a doctor is difficult and I feel like I'm being a hypochondriac with ever little infection I keep getting.
So is there anything in particular that I have to watch for.
Thanks for any advice and stay safe in these trying times
Craig
Hi again Craig.
Totally different type of blood cancer but found this info sheet that may help.
The reply from Thehighlander should help you, as the effects of CLL do vary a lot.
The common signs of increasing disease are from blood samples and swollen lymph glands.
Some people suffer from fatigue, but not everyone.
The IMPORTANT things are to make sure you eat a good healthy diet, and takes lots of exercise. These two things really do make a difference to the progression of this disease.
To give you some hope for the next year, I was diagnosed with CLL back in 2005, so 15 years ago, and I have had NO treatments.
I suspect your disease may also be very slow progression since your doctor only needs to examine you annually.
Good luck in 2021.
Dick
Cheers this really helps, plus its gets me motivated to get back to the gym or at least going out have having a walk
Hi Phoenix13_uk just come across your post which is a while ago now and I wondered how you’re progressing? My brother was diagnosed with this around 2018 and he’s just told me his symptoms are progressing and his consultant is considering treatment. How are you now?
Hi Craig, I did have spells of infections too, 7 lots of tonsillitis and an ear infection which caused me to go deaf, all within a year. It's important to get the docs to get on top of them so don't worry about that, it's their job :) Apart from that spell of infections I have had a couple of bouts of bad fatigue but they seem to pass ok. I keep away from folk with colds etc and keep busy and positive. take care, kind regards Neil
