I never had a positive smear . I went to and from doctors for a very long time with symptoms before I finally had a biopsy and a diagnosis. A year today which is crazy ! I understand you don’t want to say much ar the moment but happy to share my story or listen to you when ready xx
Hi Philipa and welcome to our group.
We will be ready when you want to talk-no pressure to speak unless you want to. A cancer diagnosis can be very overwhelming, so take as much time as you need.

Thank you for your reply.Just receiving replies makes me feel less alone. I already have a problem with anxiety, I am exhausted with the stress of it all.I am a retired nurse so under no illusions of what I have to face.My GP has prescribed me some Valium which helps otherwise I just can't sleep.I really appreciate your reply.xx
I have just woken up having fallen asleep on the settee. The valium and Co codamol finally helped me relax. Wrapped up in dressing gown I am resting on top of the bed now. Not like me to go in to trivial detail like this. All my smear test have been normal. Medication I took for cholesterol causes some abdominal discomfort and I think masked the symptoms. Plus tingling in legs attributed to back problem for which I was having physio.
I hope things are going well for you. I really appreciate you reaching out to me.xx
