  • Hi  and welcome to our group.

I’m sorry to read how bad this is for you and how it’s affecting your day to day life. I have to say mine did not last as long as yours and got better a couple of weeks after my treatment ended. However, while I was still having treatment it was awful-explosive stuff and I couldn’t control it so I had lots of accidents too when it would just pour out.

The fact that yours is still such an issue should mean you need some more help as you might be getting dehydrated and you’re not getting the nourishment you need if you can’t eat. What medication are you taking? Maybe it’s not enough. What are you eating and drinking, if anything? Normally I’d suggest you speak to your CNS, but you say you’ve spoken to nurses at the hospital already. Was that your nurse specialist or the radiotherapy nurses?

It will be difficult to get advice at this time of night heading to the weekend so have you tried calling 111 for advice? I should think with this going on for so long you really need to get medical advice as soon as you can.

  • Barely anything , toast today, ginger biscuits, drinking , with dirolyte,  imdioum does nothing , im really scared , I spoke and emailed numerous times ,to be told its normal , but this isn't to me

  • At least you are having some dioralyte, but I’d stress you need to get medical advice about this. Please phone 111 where they may be able to get you to see an out of hours doctor. If not, you need to an appointment with your gp as soon as you can as emailing hospital nurses is not enough-you need to be seen in person to be assessed.

None of us in the group are medical professionals-we are all either patients or carers-but constant uncontrolled diarrhoea can be dangerous and make you very weak, very quickly.

Please ring 111 to get some help.
