Hi folks, I'm due to have a Salvage hysterectomy next week as after 2 years of my initial diagnosis the cancer is coming bk in the same place, following radiotherapy and Chemo. Has anyone had a Salvage hysterectomy?.. I've been told there's a risk of damage to both bowel and bladder!
I’m really sorry to read this Kermit the Frog. Is the pelvic exenteration surgery not an option for you in the same way it was for me when my salvage hysterectomy failed?
I appreciate there may be reasons in terms of where the cancer has gone which might prevent that of course, and your scan may give more information-it was was the only thing which gave me a chance of a cure rather than palliative chemo which at the time was my only alternative.
