Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I can understand your fear about surgery as I too was worried about what would happen when I had to have surgery for a different type of cancer. If it's the procedure you're worried about then I can honestly say that the surgeon and anaesthetist were very good at putting me at my ease. I'd never had a general anaesthetic before, so was worried about that, but one minute I was lying there thinking "this isn't working" and the next minute I was waking up in the recovery ward, although several hours had gone past.
Have you been assigned a CNS (cancer nurse specialist) as she should be able to tell you what will be involved with your surgery which might help you?
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
