Hi there,

I’ve just finished my radiotherapy, brachytherapy and chemotherapy for stage 3c cervical cancer plus some nodes that are in my stomach. I’m just very nervous about the long wait ( 3 months ) to find out if it has worked. I’m worried about it spreading or getting worse in the meantime !! I’m guessing that’s normal and I just can’t help thinking that I need the scan sooner but I’m sure they have reasons for waiting 3 months.
I have a 5 month old baby boy- they found the cancer 2 months after I gave birth when I didn’t stop bleeding. All my smears have been negative and I had one just before I was pregnant. This just makes me more emotional for him.
I’m also starting to think every other pain is the cancer spreading as I’m starting to get pain in the left breast and check and under ribs!!

Hi Sweetcherry,

Thanks for coming back. I have just completed week one no problems so far. Its early days so i know thats likely to change. Sorry to hear youre still having some issues hopefully theyll get to the bottom of it soon.

Radiotherapy does take time to recover from ive heard lots of women having pains and discharge so try not to worry too much.

Hi there AF55,

I’m glad to hear that your first week has gone ok. I guess it’s important to remember that everyone’s journey is different and you might not have side effects as bad.
I just have to have faith in the doctors and believe them when they say it’s likely to be scarring . I always worry about if it’s not and what they don’t find.
