Hello
I am new on here and am looking for some advice.
I had CIN3 abnormal cells and had them treated during my colposcopy this week.
I had breast cancer 5 years ago and went through surgery, chemo and rads for that.
The Dr has marked biopsy results as urgent and says he will phone me if it’s not good news.
He was concerned that I have gone from normal to high grade abnormal in the 3 years between my smears. My smear was postponed by 10 months and he seemed to be troubled by this.
When I had breast cancer my cells were grade 3 which is aggressive.
I feel like the Dr is preparing me for a cancer diagnosis. I’m sorry for asking these questions when I am not officially diagnosed.
My history of being diagnosed before makes me feel it’s inevitable that it’s cancer.
I know only the results can confirm if I have or don’t have cancer.
I guess I’m asking am I reading too much into the actions of my Dr? Would he know by what he saw during treatment that it’s probably cancer?
Thank you for reading my long rambling post
fiona
Hi Fiona and a very warm welcome to the online community
Waiting for results is such an anxious time and it's inevitable that you try and work out why the doctor has marked your biopsy results as urgent. Unfortunately, there's no way of us being able to second guess that or know whether this means that he thinks you have cancer or not.
I know it's easier said than done but try not to assume the worst and instead put back into practice the distraction techniques you used when you were going through your breast cancer diagnosis. With Covid present in all our lives I realise this might not be as easy as it was before.
Do come back and let us know the results of your biopsy.
Sending a virtual ((hug))
