Hi I’m really hoping for some advice as I’m absolutely petrified and honestly don’t knoW if I’m coming or going anymore.

I went to the GP last Wednesday due to abnormal bleeding in between periods, brown discharge, pain during sex and bleeding during sex also.
I went in expecting for them just to tell me it’s my implant causing these problems, sadly this wasn’t the case and I was told by my GP she could see an abnormality on my cervix.

My GP seems to think it’s a cervical ectropion although she’s sent me for an urgent referral to gynaecology for worries of cancer.

I’m only 27 and had a baby 9 months ago. My appointment is on Tuesday morning and I’m just in bits worrying. Can anyone help to ease my mind?

loads of love to everyone Heart

Hi Robyn1994  welcome to the forum.

First thing is that your GP Has done exactly the right thing by sending you to the Gynaecologist to be checked out and if this is an ectropion it is perfectly treatable and no reason to expect anything other than that you will be absolutely fine.

I can understand why you would worry but the reason that the word urgent is on the referral is to speed up the process to get you seen sooner rather then later and have that area checked our by the experts.

Please stay off google it is tempting to go looking there but the information is too generic and may end up scaring you more for no reason so stick here and do come back and let us know how you get on.

Meantime enjoy plenty of hugs with that lovely baby of yours.xxx

Hi robyn, your symptoms are exactly the same as mine, and my doctor seem that I too have a cervical ectropion, if its any consolation to you, my smear and blood tests came back normal, just waiting on my gyne appointment to come through
