Hi everyone so I went for my results today 4 weeks and 2 days after my radical hysterectomy.
It's good news, everything was clear there was no cancer in anything that was taken out, so they think because the recurrence was microscopic it must of been removed when I had the colposcopy in January.
Thank you
It's not too bad, this week as been the worst so far, my bowels decided to play up and I got a uti just finished the antibiotics, and I think the worry of today didn't help.
Starting to feel better now, still taking it easy though, my incision is healing up nicely.
How are you getting on x x
That’s really good news Sodo7985 -what a relief for you!
I hope your bowel and bladder effects are short lived and you can continue to improve.

Urgh for bowels and UTI - glad you’re starting to improve after antibiotics. I managed to avoid a UTI but bowels have been an issue for me ever since surgery. I’m still on daily laxatives, although continuing to gradually reduce the dose so hopefully will be off them soon (I’m down to one 5ml spoon per day so the next step is to stop and hope everything’s still okay).
Overall, I’m doing pretty well. I can move around without having to really think about it now and I can do most things I could do before surgery. Just a few annoying things still to work on: driving is really uncomfortable, something about the sitting position for driving no matter how I adjust my seat means I can do a short drive but after about 10 minutes my stomach is really uncomfortable and I need to get out of the car. Sitting in general isn’t great but driving is the worst sitting position as I can only alter my position so much to be able to drive properly. I’m getting impatient but the doctor says that I’m doing well, need to remember it’s a big operation so will take time, etc. I’m continuing to do physio exercises and hoping to join a pilates class soon.
I’ve been doing the online Macmillan HOPE course and I’ve signed up for the online group coaching programme through Life After Cancer which starts next week so I’m hoping this will help me to get back on track and feeling like I can get on with everything.
I had my first three-monthly monitoring checkup last week which felt like it came round really quickly! It was all straightforward and a relief that everything’s fine. I was a bit anxious about having my first internal examination since surgery in case it hurt, but it didn’t.
Glad your incision is healing nicely. Hope your bowels stop giving you trouble soon.
