I had my first chemo on Wednesday today I have excruciating pain in my genitalia and groin back area it’s very painful. I’ve call the nurse and 24 emergencies and have been told to monitor it and take pain killers.
i was just wondering if anyway has experienced the same because both nurses couldn’t tell me its a normal side effect after chemo
thank you in advance
I’m sorry to read you are in so much pain and haven’t been given much advice yet. I wasn’t on the same chemo as you as I only had weekly Cisplatin, so I’m sorry I can’t help with this. If you can let everyone know what chemo you are currently on, it might help others to share their experiences if the same thing has happened to them.

I just wanted to update on my situation in case it may help anyone in the future.
i ended up in hospital to manage the pain and was sent home with codeine and morphine. So I’m managing the pain at home, the doctors didn’t actually give me any reason for the pain other than it could be the chemo working on the cervical cancer.
they reassured me to always call and ask for advice.
I’m sorry you ended up in hospital but at least you have got pain relief now, and I hope it’s effective for you. I see from your profile that you are on carboplatin and paclitaxel and it’s helpful for others to know what your current chemo regime is, if they haven’t read your profile info.
I hope you feel that you’re managing better now.
