Good Evening Everyone
First time asking for advice, as Im normally on the Bladder cancer page. My partner has Grade 3 High risk, undergoing chemotherapy.
So, my recent Smear test showed, CIN3, had 2 biopsies, Cervical and Womb.
Also had treatment for the Cervical abnormalities. But not exactly sure why she did a Womb lining biopsy ?
Has anyone experienced this ?
Awaiting results 4 to 6 weeks.
Many Thanks In advance, for any help

Hi em444 and welcome to our group.
I’m sorry to read you have found yourself with more worries on top of your husband’s situation and hope he is coping well with treatment. I pop up in the bladder group from time to time as I’ve had my bladder removed.
I haven’t been in the same situation as you find yourself in as I went from being symptomatic straight to a cancer diagnosis, so missed out the CIN stage. However, it’s not unusual to take both womb and cervical biopsies at the same time to make sure all bases are covered as it were. At my initial appointment I had a hysteroscopy as checking my womb was part of the general checking done by my gynaecologist, but didn’t have a womb lining biopsy as I was bleeding heavily and it was clear that I had a tumour on my cervix.
I see that you’ve had treatment for the CIN3 cells, and so the removed tissues will be tested to ensure that there is nothing more than CIN3 cells found. With the womb, the biopsy will be precautionary to make sure that there are no cells of concern there.
It’s a long wait for results, which can be difficult to manage, so try not to think too far ahead before you have more information. The treatment for abnormal cells is usually very successful, so hopefully your results will be reassuring and you won’t have anything else to be concerned about.
However, you are very welcome to be with us and feel free to ask any more questions if you need to. How are you feeling after your biopsies and treatment?
Sarah xx
