Morning all
Just wanted to wish everyone in the group the very best for this new year. For those starting treatment, I hope it goes well, for those in recovery take it easy for now. None of us know what the year ahead holds for us, but I hope we are able to face it with optimism and the hope that all can be well. I appreciate that some of us may be struggling, especially at this time of year, and hope, if this is you, that you will feel able to reach out for some support and help. No-one needs to be alone.
I didn’t stay up last night for midnight but was able to see a spectacular firework display from close by which lit up my bedroom when the noise started! No raising of a glass either, so I might do that today at some point!
Whatever your plans today, I wish you all of the best.

Inner peace is a very good thing to wish and strive for, Julie, and one of the hardest in my experience to achieve. However the further out you are from treatment of any kind, things do become a little easier to cope with. Stress and fear of recurrence is always there but hopefully recedes in time.
We all need to have hope, grab it with both hands and hang onto it! I’m going to get on with a few things this morning and give some consideration to what might fall in my glass later!

Hi everyone,
Happy New Year. My daughter goes home tomorrow from the Christmas holidays, then Tuesday starts my 5 weeks of chemo radiotherapy. Wishing you all the strength and positivity you need to get you through the challenges ahead.
my coping strategies so far are 5-10 meditation before I get up using the Headspace app, it doesn’t always work but I’m determined to keep at it. Loads of YouTube videos also. Calming music and keeping a journal.
I’ll let you know how it goes next week. Xx
Hi Caj
Wishing you all the best with your treatment. It’s good to have some coping strategies in place, and keep us posted with how things are going.

Just take it one day at a time, and let your team know about any side effects you experience no matter how insignificant they may seem. There will be a potion or pill to help, so take advantage if you feel any treatment effects. Lots of us have been through this treatment, so feel free to ask any questions or share any worries as you go along.
