Hey guys,

I got a date for my final MRI!! It's exactly 2 weeks from today. I promised myself I wouldn't worry until it was over and had to wait on results! But here I am....a basket case Sob . Does anyone no the wait time to see my consultant for the report? I'm imagining all sorts! Like they didn't get all the cancer or have to go for more treatment. I should know better than to be negative so hopefully tomorrow is a great positive day.

Thanks for listening Heart️

  • Hi Angela

Isn’t the waiting just the worst?!

I was 2 weeks between scans and results. My Mcmillian nurse told me it had to be a minimum of 10 days though so maybe you will be lucky and just wait the 10 days. I have waited 4 weeks though however I did call and get results over the phone with an appointment to back it up a couple of days later however that was due to the results not being the best.

I hope you don’t have to wait too long and that the results are positive

  • Hi Angela

Scanxiety is a real thing! Both the scan coming up and then the wait for results. My wait time felt horrendous, but was unusual I think. I had my mri end of February and my consultant appointment was 2nd April. Hopefully yours will not be too long, maybe a couple of weeks? Have you got an appointment scheduled with your consultant to follow up?

We all worry-it’s impossible not to worry I think no matter how positive we normally are. Two weeks isn’t too long to wait but will feel like ages, as will the wait for results, so try and keep yourself as distracted as you can with other stuff. And hopefully the result will be the NED we all hope for!

  • Hi Sarah

I’ve completed 3 rounds so far, 3 to go. Had CT yesterday so a waiting game for that.

I have managed to develop a clot in my pelvis during treatment which has been a massive pain however it’s being treated. Just wish it would get better quicker as it can be very difficult some days.

    Hope you are well?
    Jen

  • I’m not sure anyone gets over the anxiety of scans and results. It’s a very difficult time. One day at a time and make sure tomorrow is a better day Heart eyes

Fingers crossed for the magical words

  • Hi Angela, I see you're from Belfast. I'm from NI aswell. I assume you're with Belfast City Cancer Centre. My 3 month MRI it was a few weeks then I got a letter for a phone consultation.

However with my 6 month MRI which touve previously commented on - I got my MRI last week, MDT meeting was today and I got a phonecall about the next steps. Be assured they are fast acting in Belfast x

  • Hi Jen, just wanted to say hello, it's great to hear from you xxx

  • Hi Angela.  Just had my PET scan today and MRI next week, so absolutely know what you are feeling.  I wish you all the luck with your scan and hope you do have a positive day tomorrow xxx
