I'm just joining this group having recently been diagnosed with the C word. I live in Thailand and everything is a bit different here. After my consult following a LEEP I was told it was probably stage 1A2. But I need further investigation to confirm. They recommend MRI, and then some firm of surgery. I'm a little overwhelmed right now, although I was expecting the worst from today's appointment, and being told it's (hopefully) stage 1, is relatively good news in comparison.....I'd love to hear any other advice people have to offer who have been in a similar situation ..

The good news if it’s stage 1A2 is that it’s an early cancer. Mine was much more advanced, so surgery wasn’t an option at my first diagnosis, unfortunately.
They will need to check to confirm that the initial thoughts about the staging are correct, and if so, it’s likely that you would have a radical hysterectomy. This is the typical type of hysterectomy when cancer is involved (there are various types of hysterectomy, but usually a radical is recommended for cervical cancer).
Please let us know how you are getting on-we have a lovely supportive group here where ladies have been through many different types of treatment depending on the stage of their cancer, so there will be plenty of help and support for you going through this.
Main advice for now is to take things one day at a time and don’t try to let your mind run away with itself. You need more information before you will know for sure what treatment you will have, but they will be treating you with a view to curing you.
