Cervical cancer stage 3c1...had treatment 4 weeks received a letter...saying ony partial response still showing disease..so I thinking treatment hasn't worked for me
Hi Nahla.
Is that your treatment finished? I got a scan at the end of my 6 weeks of treatment with a good positive result but at 4 weeks I'm not sure it would have been such good news?
Angela xx
Yeah my all treatment finished now only partial response so I'm thinking I never had a good response to the treatment..don't know why xxx
It seems like a short time to have all your treatment? Can I ask what they gave u? Xx
I myself had 28 radiotherapy, 6 chemo and 3 brachytherapy xx
I had 5 weeks of radiotherapy chemo every Monday for 5 weeks..two rounds of bracatheralpy...finished all the treatment 4 weeks 2mora xx
Oh sorry Nahla my mistake..I thought they only gave you 4 weeks of treatment. I gotta wait few months for MRI to get final result and response but all hospitals differ in this. Do you know wot else they can offer you now? As in more chemo etc? Xx
I'm also a bit surprised they would send that kinda news in a letter? Surely you will have questions etc so a face to face consultation would be better and more professional xx
Hi Angela and Nahla
My mum also has 3c1 squamous cell cancer. She is halfway through her (5 weeks of chemorad + i think 4 sessions of brachytherapy) treatment. She is showing good signs as the symptoms (bleeding, back and pelvic pain) has reduced a lot. she will have a MRI scan next week to see how much the tumour has shrank. Angela, i was wondering when did your cancer symptoms started to go away after the treatment and how long it took you to recover ?
Sam
Hi Sam.
I was diagnosed with 2b squamous cell. My bleeding and discharge took just over 2 weeks to disappear and I was so happy but the brachy at the end brought slight bleeding back but no pain or anything. Think it's just the hoking and poking they do. I'm feeling so much better now and eating again. No sickness, My last brachy was on last Thur so it's early days but be aware of the fatigue. I can only do small bits of house work b4 having to rest but obviously this will pass. I had an MRI just before starting brachy with excellent results as in a significant reduction in tumour. But now the few months wait for final MRI to see if it's gone completely. I am determined to get well and start living my best life. Hope your mum feels ok during treatment and remember it dosent last forever.. few short weeks in the grand scheme of things.
Sending hugs
Angela xx
