Hello,
So I got the result of my PET scan today and thankfully it showed that the cancer hasn't spread anywhere other than the lymph nodes we already knew about.
The not so fabulous news is that I have a DVT so now on blood thinners for at least six months. Doctor said it can be a side effect of the chemo. One of my legs is quite swollen and the skin became mottled. Not sure I'm wholely on board with it being a side effect as I had this leg pain and swelling pre-chemo but GP did d-dimer bloods that came back negative at that time. Never going to know so not going to dwell on it but hopefully after a few days of medication it will ease the symptoms.
Thank you to the lovely group of ladies on this forum who have been so welcoming since I joined.

Hi Welly
That’s really great news about the scan-phew! Not so good about the DVT though…sorry to hear that.
I had what they termed a “chemo provoked” pulmonary embolism when I was on Cisplatin, which was a bit of a shock, so I did blood thinners for 5 months-think it was 3 months of injections every day and then I got moved to tablets. I can’t say I’ve ever had any lasting effects from it that I’m aware of, so hope your symptoms ease off with the meds.
Focus on the very positive scan results! Things are going well despite the dvt.
