So after what feels like a decade of waiting received call today to tell me that I'm stage 2 cancer has not spread but does appear to be on my surrounding tissue so looks like a combination of chemo and radiation. Have an app tomorrow with doctor who wants to examine me. Any advice at this point would be appreciated guys
Hi LJ
I'm so glad you have a long awaited diagnosis! Time will go much quicker now with more scans, planning scans and consultations, then when treatment begins ( which sounds similar to the treatment myself and Snobird are receiving) itl go so fast! I killed time painting doors and clearing out cupboards and stuff. But having the diagnosis ( even when you're expecting it) can be a bit daunting. I found telling my family realy difficult bcoz I couldn't string a sentence together and ended up txting them but honestly even talking about it gets easier. We are all here to help and try to guide you so ask any questions you feel like and somebody will surely have the answers. Best of luck and keep us all posted.
You got this... Angela xx
Hi Angela
Thanks so much for your ongoing support. Hope things are going as well as can be for you. When I heard chemo I cried for some reason it felt so much more cancerous which sounds weird but there is a sense of relief as well. I have an appointment tomorrow for an examination so hopefully will get more answers
Oh LJ, I was exactly the same. I knew in my heart it was cancer! But I only heard the word chemo!! I almost passed out! So I completely get where you're coming from. Once the initial shock wears off you'll be surprised at the strength reserves you got inside to deal with all this! We are warriors!!!

Hi LJ
So glad you finally have your stage and can get going! Stage 2 just has a bit of spread to surrounding tissues, so it should be chemo radiation. Sometimes they will do a hysterectomy at stage 2a, so I’m assuming you must be stage 2b if surgery isn’t being considered? The treatment is standard on international guidelines, so you’ll be heading along the same road as Angela! It will be so good to have her input as you go along since she is going through it now.
Which doctor are you seeing tomorrow do you know? Is it your consultant? It won’t be too long now till you get started!

Same as me, and same as Angela. So we’ll keep you going! We can miss lot of what’s said at appointments though…I was able to take my partner (although I went to my results and diagnosis alone) and it’s amazing what another pair of ears pick up! Loads of things I missed!
You’ll be with a good specialist and be in very safe hands.
