Morning ladies
Just catching up to see how everyone’s doing as we come to the end of another week. Hope those of you in treatment are bearing up and coping, especially with the radio runs.
I had a bad couple of days myself this week which is most unusual for me and very unwelcome I must say! I think I ate something which disagreed with me (memo to self is stay away from takeaways!). I had awful pain and then was up in the night being sick. This isn’t an easy process for me, as my urostomy bag is connected to a long tube at night which goes into a further bag, so I can’t disentangle myself quickly to go to the loo. Luckily I had an empty plastic waste bin to hand! Very unpleasant and then had to get up to clean that out. I do hate being sick.
This was followed by a day of the runs, so you all have my sympathy on that score! Having the runs with a colostomy bag is very, very awkward. I would normally use a new bag every day but filled 5 by lunch time! It’s exhausting and messy, but I suppose has the advantage of not giving me a ring of fire! It does make the skin on my tummy a bit raw though, so I had a day in bed just drinking lots of water and napping. Thankfully I am feeling much better now!
I have a friend and her hubby coming to visit tomorrow, so am looking forward to that-she said she will be bringing cake, so that’s a bonus! We have been friends for 42 years and I haven’t seen her since just before my surgery 2 years ago. We do video calls normally, but it will be nice to catch up in person, and her hubby gives the best hugs so I’m looking forward to that too!
Hope you are all coping this week, and looking forward to your days off. Anyone got anything nice planned? Take time to look after yourselves and take it easy-your bodies are going through a lot right now.
Sending big hugs to all.

Oh Sarah, How very thoughtful are you when you're still having such a hard time yourself! The runs are the hardest to cope with, especially for you, and as you well know it leaves you feeling like a wet lettuce. I'm having a little giggle about "ring of fire
" hehehe! Last Fri was the day when everything hit me like a ton of bricks but I'm hopeful that this weekend will be better with all the new meds the consultant prescribed for me
. Hope you have a lovely visit with your friends and that you can manage several slices of that cake
!! Take care and have a great weekend.

Haha! I love the phrase “wet lettuce” Angela-that about sums it up. I try to look for the silver lining, so for me that was no bags leaking in my bed! I would have been too much like a wet lettuce to strip it!
Hope your meds do the trick and things are a bit easier for you so you can enjoy the weekend. I am hoping for carrot cake or a lemon drizzle tomorrow! xx
Hi Jen, hope you’re doing ok and keeping well. I’ll be ready for cake tomorrow, that’s the main thing-nothing like a nice treat on a Saturday afternoon with a good cup of tea!
Have a good weekend too.

Oh Sarah, that sounds like absolute hell! I'm so sorry to hear that you've been unwell but now recovering in time for your weekend visitors. That is such a boost for you. I think I hate being sick more than anything else in the world!! The weather is supposed to be ok for this weekend so if it's warm enough maybe some sitting out in the back garden and walking a little. Very jealous of you with the cake! Yum, slobber!! I hope you have a fantastic time with your very dear friends and a lovely weekend. I'm just back so will post later. Bye for now, and big hugs to you xxx
Hi Angela. Very pleased to hear that you are feeling a little better and I really hope these meds work for you. I took some Loperamide and it was an absolute game changer last weekend when everything was so bad. Hope this week has gone ok for you. I'm just back but will update later. Hugs xxx
Hey Julie-Hope you are doing ok. Look forward to your update, but hope things are going well for you. I’ve recovered now thank you, so am looking forward to the weekend, and hope you are too. Loperamide is a wonderful thing-wish my supplies hadn’t been out of date when I checked! xxx
Hi Julie-Imodium is the same thing so I could get that but this nasty episode seems to be past now. It doesn’t happen too often thankfully and I’ve been having a really nice weekend so far. Hope you are having a good weekend too.

Hi Sarah, so glad to hear you are having a lovely weekend. So which cake did you have?? And did I enjoy it?
We did have a lovely afternoon out in the garden with my son and his family which was lovely as it wasn't planned, but it was so pleasant and warm. I picked something up this morning that was way too heavy and had a really nasty sharp twinge in my back but hopefully it seems to have settled down ok, must be more careful... keep forgetting I can't do stuff like that just now. Well back for two more radiotherapies and one brachy next week but for the first time after Wednesday we can come home and not have to go back every day!!! That is amazing! Hope you are still enjoying the rest of your Sunday night and just chilling, Hugs xxx
