Hey, so I'm 28 and had 4 smeer tests done, within 2 years, I have had laser treatment downstairs to remove the cancer cells..
As it stands I am infertile, and I'm so so scared, as I now have a very large cyst on my left ovary, which has caused me so much pain and also lots of blood clotting...
So 3 days ago my referral to the hospital got changed to urgent due to high risk of gynecological cancer.
I have 2 step kids, and a husband that need me.
I have a appointment with the gynecology team in 1 week... but I don't know what to do....
I haven't slept in 3 days and also working 13 hour days 4 on 4 off...
But I'm so worried, I'm normally absolutely fine but actually seeing it written on my medical record scared the life out of me.
Help me please xxxx
The doctors are confident I have Endometriosis and possible early menopause, I have no birth children, ( not a issue) never fell pregnant by mistake, and they emergency took my implant out 5 days ago, I'm on thinning tablets for the blood clots.
Hello Marhee and welcome to the group.
The urgent referral is so that you are seen quickly to rule out cancer, and hopefully that is what will happen when you are seen, especially if the doctors are confident you have endometriosis and early menopause.
The treatment you described having before would normally be to remove abnormal cervical cells, which are pre cancerous. Did you get a diagnosis of cancerous cells at that time? Was the treatment successful?
It’s natural to be worried and start to panic, but try to take a day at a time right now, and not let your thoughts go to dark places-you don’t have any diagnosis yet, and it may well not be any kind of cancer. “suspected cancer” is not a diagnosis-it’s a method of having a faster referral which is a good thing-you don’t have long to wait. Not everyone who is referred gets a cancer diagnosis of any sort-most people are diagnosed with something much less serious.
I personally have no experience of ovarian cysts, only cervical cancer, but it may be that some others in the group have had this and will come along to chat. xx
Yes the laser treatment was successful at the time, need to go back again in 6months time for a follow up, ph okay that makes me feel at ease a little... the cyst is about 7cm apparently which is lae to them, I'm lucky to been seen so quickly, but still a worry
I’m glad the treatment was successful and you are having the test of cure follow up for this-that is the standard procedure for successful treatment for pre cancerous cells. I can see why you are concerned about the ovarian cyst, but hopefully you will get reassurance about how this will be treated when you go for your gynae referral. xx
