Hair growth after treatment

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had any tips on hair growth after treatment? My hair is growing back, course and bushy and is getting a little out of control. I really think, if styled properly I could go without a wig/cap soon which is fantastic however I’m not sure of styles or at what point I should let a pair of scissors near it!

I have read to wait until the hair is roughly 3 inches long, which mine is not, is there anyone that has cut and styled before this point?

Thanks

  • Hi Jen and a very warm welcome to the online community

I can't help with your question but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list where hopefully it'll be seen by someone who has the experience you need.

When you feel ready, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Not sure on the type of hair you got or styles you like but try washing with a shea or coconut based shampoo it helps growth and with strength.  Then maybe once you have more strength in your hair straighten it so its like a styled bob around your face.

  • Hi scared mom

its maybe about 1.5 inches just now all over. It’s growing back really thick and bushy, I think it will be a crop style I’ll need to start with.

I’ll give the suggested shampoos a go though, thank you.

How are you feeling? Any luck with the doctor?

  • No problem.  I really love body shop. No silicone in so helps with the growth.

Not really just having some ahhhhhh moments lol

  • Ah, I might give that a go, thank you!

ahhhh moments are ok to have, I’m sure we all have them at some point!

have you any word on a treatment plan?

  • Possibly starting in 2 weeks.

With hair body shop do some great hair masks that make you feel pampered which is always a plus

    1. Good to hear you have more of an idea. I hope it all goes well for you xx
