Cervical cancer

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

Although I was diagnosed with a different type of cancer I recognise the feeling of your head being all over the place. My diagnosis was 5 years ago now so, in the meantime, I've learnt that one of the best things to is to stay off google. If you want any information about cervical cancer then use reputable sites like this one or Cancer Research UK.

While you're waiting for your MRI scan you might find something like mindfulness helpful. If this is something that you think might interest you then clicking here will take you to the NHS mental health app page with links to downloads some of which are free.

Personally I found immersing myself in things I enjoyed doing helped keep my mind away from thinking about worse case scenarios. If you have any hobbies or activities that you enjoy then now is a good time to get thoroughly involved.

I'm sure the other group members will be happy to share their experiences with you if you wanted to ask any questions and, in the meantime, it would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile. It really helps others when replying to you or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
