Hi,
I have got an appointment on Monday for colposcopy and biopsy which was very very quick as I only spoke to my doctor 2 days ago about the issues. Does how quick I got the appointment mean that I should worry? As I feel like it just shouts urgent or that they suspect it is CC. Also will I get told anything on Monday after my colposcopy and biopsy or do I have to wait to be told anything?
any advice please xxx
Hi and welcome to the Online Community. I think the speed at which you're having your colposcopy and biopsy done is back to the pre-covid timescales. I had a different type of cancer and when I was put on the two week wait cancer pathway I naively thought it'd be 2 weeks from contacting GP to ultimately seeing a consultant pre-op. My journey started early June and I had my op after hysteroscopy, MRI and CT scans in late September. All this was smack bang in the middle of the pandemic and I had to go alone to all of them.
Unfortunately there'll be a wait of probably two or three weeks until you get the histology results. We all agree here the endless waiting for tests then waiting for results is the pits and very anxious time for us. After histology results are back a treatment plan will be devised and although it's still a scary time you'll feel more in control.
You've joined the right group to ask questions and get support and I'm sure the ladies will be along soon to welcome you.
Hope all goes well on Monday.
Best wishes, B

Hi you're very welcome. I've just had my 3rd three-monthly check-up which was all clear. I'll carry on having checks every three months up until late 2022 then 6 monthly thereafter up until year 5. Still slightly in shock at ever having had cancer -it's surreal but "Do-able"!
Hugs, B xx

Yes I bet it was a massive shock, but I’m so happy for you that your still clear of it! Just another question. Honest opinion, Being put on the cervical cancer pathway, does that mean that there’s a high chance I have it or that they think I do? Big hugs back Xxx
Honest answer, until they get histology results back they can't be certain but it's far better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.
If you read my profile (click on my id) you'll see I was going to ignore pink spotting on my undies over a couple of days as I didn't think it worth contacting my GP in during lockdown and was positive it was nothing to worry about, I felt fit and well and had sailed through my menopause without any problems years ago. I was initially graded as stage 1a, grade 1 but after hysterectomy and histology regraded to stage 1b grade 3 (aggressive) - so had I ignored my bestie nagging me to contact my GP and she hadn't put me on the 2 week wait cancer pathway my story today would have been very different. I'd never heard of Endometrial cancer and didn't know what laparoscopic surgery was, a year later I've had both and got the Tshirt!
On the other hand on my forum there's been ladies who've had scans which revealed something suspicious which turned out to be a fibroid.
So sit tight - easy to say, hard to do and put your trust in our brilliant NHS. Read through the posts on this forum and just hit reply to any threads you want to join in. We find here on these forums there's no question deemed to be too stupid. You'll find you can talk about anything that worries you and there's a lot of hand holding and virtual hugs to be had - it was my life-line last year and the first social media type forum I'd ever joined.
