Hi everyone

It's been almost a week since I wake up at nights due to sweats and cant sleep anymore it's.always hot and just I cant get comftable in any thing

Can any one give me some advice about that

And I have a light pain under my scar which is getting worse .any idea about that?

Have a nice time everyone.

  • Hi Louisa,

I had a hysterectomy for womb cancer but my surgical menopause has given me night sweats, I have a fan beside my bed which I use to cool down, I turn it off and on as I need it, you can get remote controlled fans too, I have a gel pillow that I bought from the supermarket, it stays cool but heats up quickly so it's out and in my bed but was good for the first few weeks, I do prefer the fan though.

i also avoid hot drinks before bed and wear light layers so that I can cool down when I need to. Layered bedding is a good idea too (sheets and blankets instead of a full duvet, or a summer duvet with a blanket, etc).

For your pain at your scar I'd ask my gp or team to have a look at it / about it, just in case there is an infection or something. I had random pains around my scar for over a year, the external healing is quick but internal healing takes 1-2 years, I always checked everything out with my team. For a long time I took some painkillers before bed to help me stay comfortable through the night.

I hope that you can get comfortable and some sleep soon.

    lots of love

    xxx

    Hi Arla

Thank you so much for this reply

Actually I have a fan beside my bed also which really helps through nights but your suggestion about not drinking the hot liquids I think would really help cause sometimes I drink tea before bed

I always get my scar checked by my team and it seems there is no problem but my exenteration area hurts alot and I can't sit for a long time when I do that would be so painful and sore

I take some painkillers before bed and it helps some how

Thank you for your nice wish

Thank u so much for Your reply

    Nice time

    Hugs and love xx

    Hi Louisa

I would recommend the gel pillows as well. They are really handy. I got mine in Home Bargains for a few pounds and I think B and M do them to.

I used to always sleep on my left side but after surgery I had to start sleeping on my right side due to pain from surgery and scar tissue. Now I usually swap sides each time I wake up through the night. Sitting is also uncomfortable. I am permently attached to a heat pack when I'm sitting if I'm not experiencing a hot flush. Your surgeries are very recent so the pain you are experiencing is quite normal and should ease over time.

    Hope this helps
