My wife is 49 and has just been diagnosed with Stage 2B cervical cancer. Her treatment will start in about 3 weeks and she is fine with most of it but she is really worried about the brachytherapy. Would anyone be able to share some details of there personal experience that may help her.
I was stage 2b also and after chemo and radiation I got brachytherapy twice. Tell your wife it’s not as bad as she’s probably thinking. Apart from wakening up with stomach cramp I was fine and they give you as much pain relief as you need but I didn’t feel any pain. Lying on your back for 24 hrs is tough but the nurses come in all the time to make sure your comfortable and she’ll have a tv to watch. It’s definitely worth it as I’m now cancer free. Hope this helps.
No probs just tell your wife to keep strong and support her as much as you can as I couldn’t of done it without my family behind me. Take care.
