Hi, I had treatment for cervical cancer stage 2b two years ago - chemo and internal and external radiotherapy. My last MRI scan showed some evidence of insufficiency fractures and the radiologist recommended further assessment with an isotope bone scan. I had that done and now I have heard that both scans have been reviewed and the results were indeterminate which means that they now want to do a biopsy. I am so anxious and really upset as I have had to wait such a long time to get the results of each scan and now face yet another wait. It feels like my life is on hold. I would be interested to know if anyone else has gone through a similar situation and what was the outcome? Thanks. Hope someone can give some input as I feel so alone with all this.
Hi and a warm welcome to the online community although I'm sorry you've had to find us.
I haven't had the experience you're looking for but I noticed that your posts in this group and in the secondary bone cancer group had gone unanswered. It could be that nobody else has had this experience or just that the right person hasn't seen your post yet. By replying to you it will bump your post back to the top of the page where it will be more easily seen.
I do understand how you feel about waiting as I'm currently waiting on the results of a biopsy, although for a different type of cancer. Unfortunately, the waiting never gets easier you just have to put whatever coping techniques you've used in the past into practice again.
When you feel up to it, it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
I hope that everything works out for you.
