Ok so my oct25 ir what ever that blood test is was high had a ultrasound next been then fast tracked for weeks notice to see gyaengolist for a colonoscopy not sure if that right it's due to irregular bleeding and bleeding after intercourse... been happe ing for 6 months didn't think anything of it until now...
I’m afraid I can’t offer any advice as I’ve not even been brave enough to go to the GP yet about my symptoms but have been having symptoms similar to yours for around as long. What was it that made you go in the end? Is it the CA125 blood test that you had and did your GP do that as a first step and then refer first of all for a ultrasound? It sounds as though you have been referred no for a colposcopy to have a better look at your cervix and I’m sure there are ladies on here who can tell you more about that or there are videos you can watch online of the procedure if you think that might help you. As I say I can’t advise as I’ve not been through any of this but totally understand you feeling scared. It sounds like they are moving swiftly which can only be a good thing to get the tests over with I guess? Please let me know how you get on x
Hi starlight,
please go and see your go about your symptoms, lots of women pass through the group and get the all clear but it's important to get these things checked out. I know how you feel as I was scared and embarrassed to go to my gp about my symptoms and put it off for a long time but if I had gone earlier I might have avoided the need to have a hysterectomy and surgical menopause (I have womb cancer).
I went to see my gp first, then I had an ultrasound which was fine, nothing to worry about, then I saw a gynaecologist who had a good look and took a smear test and a biopsy, again nothing to worry about, I took some painkillers before the appointment and didn't feel anything. After that I had another appointment with the gynaecologist where they took a closer look and more samples then I got my diagnosis. No part of the process was that bad and I wish I'd been brave enough to go see my gp sooner.
please take the first step and make your appointment, please let me know how you get on
lots of love
xxx
