Hi..
I've just undergone a nephrostomy to protect my tube from my kidney and a stoma to protect my bowel during treatment.
I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through similar and how long they had to wait before treatment starting .
Is there any shouting i can do to speed things amobg? xx
Hi juju737d0798
I’m not sure if there are other members in the group who’ve had these procedures prior to chemoradiation, so it may be difficult to find someone in the same situation.
Normally you need to wait to heal from surgery before your treatment can start, so you need to check this first. Lots of us have had chemoradiation as part of their treatment so you would be able to answer any questions about that from their experiences, but it would be best you contact your CNS or consultant to find out when your treatment might start.
I appreciate that you will be keen to get going with treatment, but that’s a clinical decision for your consultant, so the best thing to do would be to get in touch and ask any questions about it. You need to have recovered and healed to allow treatment to go ahead safely, so I would expect you to have an appointment with your consultant first to see how you’re doing and plan the next steps.
