Hi all,
I just wanted to reach out to anybody that has been diagnosed with 1a1 adenocarcinoma of cervix and find out what treatment you were offered/had?
thank you
katie
I was diagnosed in May with Adenocarcinoma of the Cervix but stage 1b1. I had a meeting with the surgeon who explained I would need a full hysterectomy. I am 57 so we didn't need to discuss whether the ovaries stayed, so I had everything removed. I had my surgery at the end of August and it got rid of the cancer. At my follow up appointment he told me no further treatment was needed. So it all depends on whether the cancer has spread to the lymph nodes. As yours is 1A1 it would be smaller than mine so I'd guess you'd be offered the same treatment. If the lymph nodes had been affected then chemo would be advised but that was not the case for me. I hope this helps! Feel free to chat more if you need.
Wishing you all the best.

Hi Katie,
i was diagnosed with 1b1 initially but following an MRI this was downgraded to 1a1. because of this treatment options change. Due to my age and wanting to keep my fertility i was offered a second LLETZ procedure and removal of pelivic lymphnodes to check it had not spread. I was still offered a radical hysterectomy but did not opt for this due to my age.
